ABOUT US
Our Story
Taunton Piano Lessons began with a single teacher. Founder Samuel Pope started teaching piano locally in Bridgwater and Taunton, working with students of all ages and abilities. Over time, word spread and more students began looking for lessons — not just for piano, but for other instruments too. As the demand grew, Samuel began inviting other talented local musicians to join the team. Today, what started as one piano teacher has grown into a small group of passionate tutors offering lessons in a range of instruments across Bridgwater, Taunton, and online for students further afield. Although the name still reflects our roots in piano teaching, our aim has always been the same: to connect students with friendly, skilled working musicians who make learning music enjoyable, inspiring, and personal. Whether you’re learning for fun, preparing for exams, or exploring music for the first time, we’re here to help you grow at your own pace.
Meet The Team

A bit about Sam, the founder.
Taunton Piano Lessons was founded by Samuel Pope, a pianist and piano teacher with a long-standing passion for music education. After teaching piano privately for several years, Sam saw how much difference the right teacher can make. He realised many students were looking for lessons in other instruments but didn't always know where to find trusted local tutors.
By bringing a small group of skilled, enthusiastic musicians, Sam created a way for more students in Bridgwater and Taunton to access high-quality music lessons while keeping the experience personal and supportive.
When he's not teaching or working behind the scenes, Sam continues to play piano and is always looking for ways to make music education more engaging and accessible.
